CPGRBC has trained and installed peace committees to respond to the needs of the population which saw a need of having a permanent platform for dialogue in order to prevent, solve and contain conflicts. The Peace Committees are a way of bringing back together different ethnic groups which were separated for a long time by identity conflicts.

Today, we have 70 peace committees in territories of Masisi, Walikale, Rutshuru and Goma.

These committees work primarily to:

• Prevent conflicts
• Solve conflicts
• Contain conflicts

Additionally, they organize independent activities such as literacy, carpentry, farming and animal husbandry trainings, as well as community groups, sports, etc.
